I hope all of you will watch this video from start to finish, and read this blog post.
"Compassion is sometimes the fatal capacity for feeling what it is like to live inside somebody else's skin. It is the knowledge that there can never really be any peace and joy for me until there is peace and joy finally for you too.” ~ Frederick Buechner
“If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion.” ~ Dalai Lama
“Compassion will cure more sins than condemnation.” ~ Henry Ward Beecher
"The World I Know"
Has our conscience shown?
Has the sweet breeze blown?
Has all kindness gone?
Hope still lingers on.
I drink myself of newfound pity
Sitting alone in New York City
And I don't know why.
Are we listening?
Hymns of offering.
Have we eyes to see?
Love is gathering.
All the words that I've been reading
Have now started the act of bleeding
Into one.
So I walk up on high
And I step to the edge
To see my world below.
And I laugh at myself
While the tears roll down.
'Cause it's the world I know.
It's the world I know.
Who will you encounter today? How will you treat them? Will how they treat you determine your actions toward them, or will you see the good in them. Do you want to see the good in others?Has our conscience shown?
Has the sweet breeze blown?
Has all kindness gone?
Hope still lingers on.
I drink myself of newfound pity
Sitting alone in New York City
And I don't know why.
Are we listening?
Hymns of offering.
Have we eyes to see?
Love is gathering.
All the words that I've been reading
Have now started the act of bleeding
Into one.
So I walk up on high
And I step to the edge
To see my world below.
And I laugh at myself
While the tears roll down.
'Cause it's the world I know.
It's the world I know.
Is love and/or happiness right in front of you, but yet you seek out, or feel the need to constantly defend your position?
The world I know is rather simple, it's a world I make, it's a world I am receptive to. The world I know is hearing a baby cry, it's experiencing, or seeing, a 5 year old clinging to the leg of an adult. The world I know is one that provides guidence to young adults as they find their way in life. The world I know is compassion, for I know not the world of others.
The world I know is the one I make.
